This is the results from the data I've been collecting at practices. if you don't like what you see, then maybe YOU SUCK!

Things to note:
-data is a pool from 17 sessions over the past few months
-in order to assign a rank to each player, everyone was ranked the same to begin with. These results do not take strength of teammate and opponent into consideration (though all following releases will)
-there is no penalty for being absent, except that the data is a little less reliable than say someone who has come to all or most sessions
-I only have a rudimentary grasp on statistical analysis, but my arithmetic is kick ass. If anyone wants to take a look at the raw data (and perhaps find ways to improve upon the method / make my life easier with a little programming knowledge) I'll email it to you
-this shit is shitty for formatting. Bear with me while I try to find a good way to do this

Here it is:

Thanks for compiling this data. It is nice to see the fruits of my hard work displayed in a way that clearly demonstrates my supreme supriority.

On a serious note, .975 is my goal by the end of May, even though I don't really know what that number means. Can you explain this a bit?

Allow me to try and explain the ranking system I've come up with:

-For every game, each player is awarded points based on several factors: score, player rank, player rank compared to teammate, team rank vs. opponent rank. (To begin with, everyone was given identical rankings).
-The above data goes into an algorithm that determines the possible points that could be won for each player in the game. It is set up in such a way that the better player on the team will gain more points relative to their partner in a win, but will also take a larger hit to their points in a loss.
-In most cases where Team A is expected to win based on the sum of their ranks the maximum points available to any player in a game is their rank. This is to cut down on someone getting unfairly greater rankings by beating up on a bunch of sucksters.
-In cases where a lower-ranked team wins, they are awarded more points than their rank. This will ensure that the lower ranked players stay hungry.
-The points awarded is ultimately decided by the difference in the final score of the game squared. The follow table shows the percentage of possible points awarded to the losing team. The first number is the losing teams score.

1 ______ 0.23%
2 ______ 0.91%
3 ______ 2.04%
4 ______ 3.63%
5 ______ 5.67%
6 ______ 8.16%
7 ______ 11.11%
8 ______ 14.51%
9 ______ 18.37%
10 ______ 22.68%
11 ______ 27.44%
12 ______ 32.65%
13 ______ 38.32%
14 ______ 44.44%
15 ______ 51.02%
16 ______ 58.05%
17 ______ 65.53%
18 ______ 73.47%
19 ______ 81.86%
20 ______ 82.64%
21 ______ 83.36%
22 ______ 84.03%
23 ______ 84.64%
24 ______ 92.16%

-So basically, the rule is: if you're gonna lose, don't get R partied.
-The scores from all of a player's games are added up and divided by the number of games played. This is done to minimize the effect of wildly discrepant numbers of games played.
-After all of that, the average number of points is standardized against the highest points earner. Therefore, the best player will always have a ranking of 1.000.

Any more brainbusters?

Tonight, I won with PT (1/1), Schricke(1/1), Jack (1/1), Jake (1/1), Jon A (1/2), and Tuan (1/2). Hence, tonight I won 6 games and lost only 2. Boosting my win percentage bitches! I"m coming for PT . . . of that you can be SURE.

Last night I got the distinct feeling that some people don't understand how this ranking system works. I can answer any questions that people may have, but the most important thing to take home is that, in constructing this ranking system, I've set it up in such a way that the points are fair regardless of who is playing the match.

As for the win/loss: I am tracking all games. If anyone else wants to look at only certain games and compile a different W/L record than what is shown, I will gladly forward the spreadsheets on.

Yo dude,

My outburst yesterday was my problem. Your system rocks, don't take anything I said personally. My problem is the delimna to play my ass off to win, even when I am injured. Which I did in the second game, which still hurts today. No system can fix that. YOUR SYSTEM ROCKS! Thanks for all the hard work!

Yeah don't take it personal that PT is a whiny little biatch. You gotta feed him grapes in between points and give him treasure baths 'n shit to keep him happy.

I can't believe PT and I somehow allowed Jack and John to beat us! Severe blow to the rankings! Adios #2, hello #6!

Dude, consider this post to be an official pressure-putter-onner. Release power ranking update #1 already. I'm jonesin' for that number 1 ranking man! I know I'm gonna get it, or at least I'm going to get way closer to PT's winning percentage. I am shooting for 65% by early June.

Damn! The heat is on. I'll try to post version 2.0 by this Friday, but I'm still missing data from one session on or around 01Apr. I think PT says he has the data.

Also, as it looks now, just about everybody has gone down in the rankings. This is due to the fact that the rankings are standardized from the highest player's result. I think this is a flaw in the system, as everybody's ranking should not rely so much on the performance of the top ranked player. Until I figure this out, or get some suggestions on how to handle this, I'll just have to operate with the lower rankings.

Edit: Jer right now your win% is at 62.6% with two good sessions you could potentially reach your goal sooner than expected.

Let it be mother fucking KNOWN that AirJer has increased his win percentage by nearly 4 full percentage points in less than one month! From 58.8 to 62.6% . . . who else can match my onslaught? That's right, so bow down to your #2 (for not much longer) daddy.
