I am 90% in. I have 3 travel agents I'll be speaking to on Monday, since i get that day off of work. Hopefully, I can find some tickets for around 1,000$. I don't think I want to spend too much more than that. The tourney would certainly be a lot cooler with some other Chaos members to share the experience with. I'll keep ya'll updated on the findings from the Travel agent for sure!

Ok guys, i suggest two possible options to get to San Cristobal City:

1.- here is the best option i think you have to get to San Cristobal: you must take a flight to CARACAS (CCS), there´s plenty of flights daily from the US to Caracas, this is the biggest international airport in Venezuela, actually is in the coast around 20 miles of Caracas city. We are organized to pick you up at the ariport, take you to caracas, where you can spend one night in one of our coleagues caracas players house, and then the day after you can part to San Cristobal on a Bus with all the caracas footbag guys (i think the bus will be rented).

2.- The second option is to arrive to Caracas airport, then, -- from the same airport but at the regional flights terminal -- , to take a flight to SANTO DOMINGO AIRPORT , this is in TACHIRA state, where San Cristobal is . Santo Domingo Airport is the closest airport to san cristobal, more or less 20 miles. If you choose this second option please let me know with all detail, cause i´ll be waiting for you at santo domingo airport. Notice that sometimes isn´t that easy to book a flight to santo domingo, cause departures are often delayed and im not sure if you can book that flight from the US or you have to do it at Caracas airport. This second option is one day and a half faster cause you wouldn´t spend the night in caracas.

any questions keep me posted

see ya!

Lowest ticket prices found by travel agent #1 was $943.30 round trip, leaving from SF. She says I would need to book by Nov 13th to lock in that rate. This would get us to Caracas Venezuela, where we'd sped the night with some footbag players and bus it the next day with some Caracas players to San Cristobal.

I'm going to start to fill this thread in with possible things to do. Here is one thing I read about which sounds pretty amazing: canyoning in Merida.

"We tried Canyoning for the first time ever in Merida and what an amazing experience it was. We have tried a number of extreme sports, and this was by far the must fun and the biggest rush... more than sky diving.

We took the Canyoning trip with Arassari Trek who are located near the Teleferico and they are supposed to be the original ones in the area, as they were the first to discover the trail and brought specialists over from France and Switzerland to plan the trail.

The entire trek took about 6 hours. You start with a drive to the top of the mountain and then hike about 15 minutes to the start of the river trail. The trip had 3 waterfalls we needed to absail (repel) down, a few to slide down, and a few points to jump off. It was a real thrill ride. After about 3 hours we stopped for snacks and then after the entire trip, the tour company had an amazing dinner ready for us. Arassari has a great office with a an outdoor area overlooking the mountains so it is a relaxing place to dine at the end of a long day.

The guides were fantastic. Very friendly, very knowledgeable, they spoke English and Spanish, and best of all they took a long a camera to take both photos and videos of the trip. That was really nice as unless you have a waterproof housing, you can not take your camera. The CD of photos was pretty cheap too for great memories. The trip price in Novemeber 2007 was only $45 each and the CD about $10."
