| Dear Footbag Net players, fans, and enthusiasts; The Chicago Lake Coast Kickers are proud to announce the 3rd Annual Windy City Cup Footbag Net Championships, to be held in the beautiful city of Chicago, IL from June 18th to the 20th, 2010. Like the last two years, we will hold our preliminary rounds at Union Park on the near-west side of the city (at the corner of Lake and Ashland) and our finals will take center stage at Navy Pier, the premier summer tourist attraction in Chicago. http://www.footbag.org/events/show/1267718326One HUGE difference this year, however, is that we will be REQUIRING pre-registration and requesting pre-payment NO LATER THAN MAY 31st!!! If you do not pre-register, you will not be guaranteed a spot in the event. If you choose to pay for your registration after May 31st, you will be charged a $10 late fee. The Windy City Cup is a professional footbag event that is being held at one of the biggest venues the sport has ever known. It takes a tremendous amount of planning and preparation. We absolutely need your cooperation on this matter. Please see our event page for more information and to pre-register. YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS TOURNAMENT!! http://www.footbag.org/events/show/1267718326We can't wait to be your hosts! Please feel free to reply to this thread with any questions or concerns you may have or any trash talking that you would like to offer up. As always, we will make every attempt to house as many players as we can, so if you need a place to stay, post it here! | |

| By the way- we will be using nothing but RALLY SCORING for the Windy City Cup this year. If you are not familiar with how rally scoring works, it's time you did some research. Singles matches will all be one game to 21, and doubles matches will be best two-out-of-three to 15 until we get into the quarter-finals, where it will become best two-out-of-three to 21. Consolation doubles matches will be one game to 21. And did I mention yet that you MUST pre-register by May 31st? Go to the event page at footbag.org and get it done!! http://www.footbag.org/events/show/1267718326 | |

| Rally scoring is cool. I think that 2 out of 3 to 15 is too short for doubles. If a team gets off to a bad start, as we already know, it is basically IMPOSSIBLE to come back in rally scoring. Thus, making the matches go until 21 gives the team a better chance to come back. Seriously, 15 is way too short in my opinion. Also, going to 15 will only shave off about 4-5 minutes per game . . . I don't think the amount of time saved will be significant. I bought my tickets and I"m on my way to pre-register now! | |
